Classical Ballet

Our fully qualified teachers are committed to providing a stable and secure foundation for each student's training - whether for purely recreational enjoyment or as the beginnings of a career in dance. The syllabus has been carefully structured to ensure that the student receives a well-balanced training, with each grade designed to build progressively to the senior levels. Technique develops proper body alignment and correct training of muscle groups. Classes incorporate the required discipline, but stress enjoyment and performing. Usually children begin Grade 1 Ballet from 8 years of age, but placement in classes will depend on the teacher's assessment of the dancer.

Girls
Grade 1 & 2 (Approximately 8 - 9 years)
Uniform:
Bloch "Celena" Lilac Leotard, Ballet Tights, and Pink Leather Ballet Shoes with Pink Elastics.
  • A lilac georgette wrap skirt with matching hair ribbon is required for exams.
Girls
Grade 3 & 4 (Approximately 10 - 11 years) Uniform: 
Bloch “Celena" Boysenberry Leotard, Ballet Tights, and Pink Leather Ballet Shoes with Pink Elastics.
  • A boysenberry georgette wrap skirt with matching hair ribbon is required for exams.
Girls
Grade 5 & 6 (Approximately 11 - 12 years)
​Uniform:
Bloch "Celena" Plum Leotard, Ballet Tights, and Pink Leather Ballet Shoes with Pink Elastics.
  • A plum georgette wrap skirt with matching hair ribbon is required only for exams.
Boys
Grade 1 to Grade 3 uniform:
Black Bike Shorts, White Fitted T-Shirt (tucked in), Long White Socks, and Black or White Leather Ballet Shoes with White Elastics.
Grade 4 and above uniform:
White Capped-Sleeve Leotard with Navy Tights or Navy Unitard, Long White Socks, and White or Black Leather Ballet Shoes with White Elastics.

​Mature students may choose to wear a White Capped-Sleeve Leotard or a White Fitted T-Shirt with Navy Tights.
  • White Capped-Sleeve Leotard with Navy Tights or Navy Unitard, Long White Socks, and White or Black Leather Ballet Shoes are required for all exams.
