We understand putting make-up on younger Dancers can be a challenge, but unfortunately, without make-up, your Dancer will look very washed out on stage.
We suggest:
We suggest:
- Foundation - a liquid foundation that matches the natural skin tone followed by a finishing powder to remove shine
- Light Rouge - applied to the cheekbones, not the cheeks
- Eye Shadow - brown applied over the lid as in the above photograph
- Eye Liner - black applied to the lashline, finishing with a small flick at the corner of the eye. Liquid eye liner is easier to apply than pencil, especially on younger Dancers
- Mascara - black applied to upper and lower lashes
- Lipstick - RED STAY-ON LIPSTICK, not pink, not gloss. If in doubt on the color, ask an experienced dance mum/dancer. We recommend Cover Girl Ever Red-dy #507. This lipstick won’t smudge or get on costumes. To remove it, just use a cooking oil.
Boys
- Foundation - a liquid foundation one shade darker than the natural skin tone followed by a finishing powder to remove shine
- Light Rouge - applied to the cheekbones, not the cheeks
- Eyebrows - should be darkened slightly and filled so they won’t look washed out
